In between there is a quiet moment. Where I get a break from the noise.
Then my thoughts race.

What are you doing for dinner?
What was that lady’s name that used to bartend at that spot we always went to?
Do you have any holiday traditions?
How was work today?
What were you like in middle school?
Where do you want to get dinner?
Does 7pm work?

I'm reminded of all the things I can't say to you.
Quiet again.

Life is messy and complicated but it's also beautiful and sweet. 

This collection is being released on my late best friend Danny's birthday. HBD friend, I miss you.
